You used to be able to find out who the owner of a car was through the post office, but they stopped doing it, there is an old car near me that hasnt moved for years, and i would like to buy it.How can you find out who owns it.

I beleiev you can write to DVLA enclosing a stamped envelope and they can pass your letter on. I know someone who did the very same.

You could always put a note on it's windscreen - If they tax it and test it, they must use it ? Or put a few fliers through some doors or ask a few of the houses nearby if anyone knows who owns it.

it hasnt been taxed for years, the flyer idea may be worth a trick.
Cheers
You could go to your local police station, They will find out for you. Or the DVLA website.
