Maximum 1000 fine too.

And as MOTs are now computerised the police can tell straight away if you are MOTd or not.
"...inevitable repairs."

You are also breaking the law if you drive an unroadworthy vehicle irrespective of any valid MOT.

If the vehicle is defective in regard of brakes, steering or tyres; or the condition of the vehicle is deemed a danger to persons or property, then the maximum penalty for each of those offences is 2500 plus 3 points and a discretionary disqualification.

Thanks everyone. I was just getting myself into a bit of a tizz and wondering if I could get away with not MOTing till payday next week.

My other half has just borrowed some money off his mum and we part exchanged for a fab Vauxhall Astra this afternoon. we pick it up on Wed.

Thanks again and I promise I won't threaten to break the law again :)
