Hello!

I was servicing my friends Peugeot 106 on Saturday (1124cc 2000(W) Zest 2) and I couldn't find the oil filter. I have the haynes and it is not located where indicated. I looked everywhere, jacking the car up to get a good look at the back of the block. Can anyone help. I guess it must be hiding behind some sort of housing?? I've worked on several cars and never had this problem before!!

Thank you

Dear Waggers

I too once had this problem and the helpful chappies on the Pug service desk pointed me in the right direction. The reason you cant find the oil filter is because it's not a "standard" filter shape/housing. To the front of the engine there should be a black, plastic, bell shaped housing with a big hexagonal nut on top. This sits vertically, positioned roughly behind the pug badge. This is the filter housing and any knowledgeable dealer will sell you the internal element to the filter (not the standard metal, mug-shaped part).

Hope this helps Ian!
