I had a pearlescent escort cab and was a small scratch on rthe boot. He told me get some 2000 grit sand paper (really smooth stuff) and sand the scratch out. When this is done touch up with a brush with a few bristles on. When dry sand it smooth with the same sand paper and you'll never know its been done.. Best thing for tar spots and that sort of stuff is the g4 finishing paste. This is what a body shop uses to finish your paint job off. Takes out all blemishes and i've used it myself.
