Hi, I need Power Steering Fluid for a W Reg Ford Focus. Cant find my user manual, went to Halfrods to check their "guide" and there was no entry for the Focus, asked at the counter if they could check on the computer and they said "check your manual".

From the net, I think the fluid might be ESP-MC2 166, but obviously would like confirmation. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately not, there is a number on the reservoir itself, but that is probably for that part rather than the fluid type it holds.
it's probably dextron-2 (auto transmission fluid) but it'll pay you to go a garrage & ask them to have a look for you they'll be able to tell or go to your local ford dealer's parts dept they will know
Is the fluid level low ( stupid question i know ), but there are hot & cold levels. Also if it is low, some Focus' develop a leak from the pipework near the Radiator.

As for fluid, DEXRON 2.

The fluid level was indeed low, got some Dexron 2 and all seems well.

Cheers guys

'good job dude.'

Did you ascertain the reason behind the low fluid ?

Best regards
Eddie

Negligence on my part probably. Car has been excellent, and very little (touch wood) has gone wrong with it in the 8 years I've had it. Just never checked the power steering fluid, then mechanic friend said anything with yellow markings in the engine is your responsibility, hence me checking the power steering fluid and finding it to be very low.
