I've got a 1998 Ford Fiesta 16v Encore - how often should i have my cam belt changed ?

Usually around 50,000 miles

If it's not been changed from new it needs changing now, there is a time limit aswell.

according to autodata the belt & tensioner should be changed every 10yrs or 100,000mls but i would recomend them much earlier than that aprox 4yrs/40,000mls as a precaution-but thats irrelevant the car is 10yrs old so get it changed anyway if you don't know the history.the water pump is not driven by the cambelt but check it for leaks as its behind the cambelt.
