Wiper Problem

I have a W reg. Rover 25 and just recently the wipers have been reluctant to park. When I turn them off they stop momentarily in mid screen for a second before moving to the parked position. I have replaced the fuse once because of the extra current the motor is drawing in the stalled position.
I have checked the connector immediately adjoining the motor and the contacts are all clean. I suspect something internal in the motor body. Has anyone experienced this fault and what is the cure? Regards, Peter Edward
