Nissan Micra heater problem

The heater on our 1998 Micra has been playing up recently.

We've fitted a new thermostat, flushed through the heater rad (which is getting nice and hot) and the fan motor is whirring away quite happily.

Unfortunately there is no air being blown through the vents.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, are the heater pipes hot? are you getting hot air/ cold air/hot air coming through? If so you have an air lock within the system was the heater OK before you changed the thermostat? Air lock, have you been working under the dash? if so have you knocked the heat duct pipe off?

Many thanks for your reply TWR

The heater pipes are hot and the fan is working fine but there is no air being blown through any of the vents.

I noticed today that when the heater is switched to 'circulate the air within the car' mode, there is a howling gale blowing behind the glove-box but nothing is coming through into the car.
