Renault Clio heavy condensation

Last week I found a small puddle on the floor just behind the passenger seat. Condensation had been building overnight for a while, but the night of the bad storm there was a puddle there.

Now if I'm out of the car for more than an hour all my windows get really wet. I've put a towel down where the puddle was, but that is getting very wet as well.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. S reg, new shape Renault Clio.

Leaking door seal.

Sit in the car in heavy rain, or with someone hosing you. Watch for drips.
Perhaps strategically place bits of kitchen towel and watch if any get wet.

Cheers Panic Button, best way to fix the problem once found? I'm terrible with cars, if I took it somewhere would it cost much?

Hi, to add to panics answer, has your car been valeted recently? if so there is one reason, have you of late had problems with your heater? has the window been put right up? check your boot! is the carpet wet? if so rear hatch door seal or window wiper arm to window seal.

TWR, not had it valeted for the best part of a year and the heater is working well. Boot isn't wet, only floor behind passenger seat.

Hi i think you will find it more likely to be the sunroof i fix them all the time. How the water gets to the floor without a trace is it falls onto the head lining and runs to the sides where it falls in onto the 15mm lip on the door seal which covers the end of the headlining. it then makes its way down this lip and drops under the carpet making it hard to detect the reason it goes under the seats is this is the lowest part of the floor pan. Nest time it rains run your finger behind the lip and you will find water in this area. Hope this is of some help. Rob (bettabob)
