Headlight failure

Changes the nearside non working headlight bulb on my 01 Focus using tissue( I made sure I didnt touch halogen glass) ,and its failed again after a week and a half .No fuses have blown.?
Mots due in a while so I would like to trace the cause.

I take it, it is the right bulb? did you try & change it with the Ign on? some electrics on some models do not like this so they will instantly blow again, when you take the bulb out of it's holder spray some WD40 into the contacts.

BOL10X: I had the same problem as Malagabob, I found the problem to be worn mounts on bulb casing, casing the bulb to 'break inside' somehow, either that or it was touching against something greasy/oily. All I needed to do was change the mounts (nothing to do with eletrics for me :) ).

Thanks all Have changed bulb now.cant see anything wrong with old one,both filaments seem OK. Came across a whole bulb set plus two blade fuses for £1, yes thats right £1, better than £9 for just one bulb.Be interesting to see if it will last.
