You've seen them with their 4X4s do they realise because it states 4X4s that that are still prone to sliding? one knob head paid the price last night around our area when he / she thought the heap of crap that they were driving was was not going to slide on the Ice, it's a pity that they don't find out what 4X4 stands for apart from the obvious.

How can you possibly state that the driver thought their vehicle wasn't going to slide ?
Yes quite agree seen a few some think they are bomb proof in a 4x4 but its still 4 rubber tyres on ice and snow!!

Obviously there are some good mind reading skills here at work

It's obvious that 4 wheel traction will provide an obvious advantage over 2 wheel drive. Not a lot of people know that obviously.
As long as you use the diff lock/ employ a 4x4 mode otherwise it's like any other car
4x4's should get a road tax refund in weather like this.

Because thae pratt had no brain driving the way he / she did Jack, any person with a bit of comon in this type of weather should known that,
Definitely Jayne ;)

No idea, Zippy.

Probably something "amusing" dreamed up by an "anti 4x4 person"
Guy across the road from me provides loads of entertainment watching him going out in his BMW (not 4x4) no brain obviously but he assumes his car is above the weather as well
Not that I'll be driving mine today.

Last night, being the last Saturday before Christmas, was a bit ... "heavy" ?

Rata rsed doesn't even start to describe it. I don't think I'll be sober enough to drive until about Tuesday.
Apparently BMWs are hopeless in snow, because they are rear wheel drive.

Jayne, I drive one I never have no problems in this weather, it's the way you use your right foot & handbrake.

Why are people anti 4x4? I don't get it,are they just jealous? I used to have a small 4x4 and now that I haven't I really miss it. It was brilliant in this weather and I know youre not immune to sliding, but they are SO much better,my current car is dreadful!. I slid the other day (going very slowly and no damage done)and now I am terrified to go out in it.
I would like a transit, I like useful vehicles
