There is a place called Dixies Corner, on the road that goes over the Sennybridge Infantry Training Range, in South Wales. I am trying to find out who Dixies was, and why the corner is named after him.

I have heard that he was a motorcyle rider that was killed, racing on the road, when it was used for racing, perhaps sometime during the 1950's.

There is, confusingly,a place selling military equipment nearby with the same name. The proprieter didn't know who Dixie was either.

Any answers would be most welcomed.
