Second Hand Caravans
7 Answers
We are considering buying a caravan. (I know if we do so, we risk the wrath of every non caravan owning driver everywhere).
I've been looking round the internet just lately, and we have seen a few at a local showroom. However, we are complete novices and just don't know where to start.
What are the problems that you encounter with a second hand caravan? What are the pitfalls to avoid? Are there any real no nos or any things we should look for?
TIA

He is autistic and has various learning and communication difficulties (which include a toiletting issue). However he is getting a bit older and is becoming very self-conscious about sharing with me and his Dad. Plus hotels are funny about it (some are right *****ds). Often we have to go last minute - so booking anywhere is a nightmare. Thus we can to the conclusion that trying a second hand caravan might be the way forwards.

Hi BM, we have had some lovely holidays in our little touring van, only secondhand but it's beautiful inside, with own loo, full cooker and fridge and comfy beds!
Can really recommend this way of life as a relaxing holiday providing the weather is good, not so much fun trekking across to the shower block or to fill the aquaroll (water tank) on wet days in mud!!
If you do get one please FAO me and I will recommend a lovely peaceful site on the East Coast we use. Just remembered about your grandson though, it is an adults only site, no children, but it would be perfect if you want a few days away on your own - and not far to go either (only 77 miles from us) so probably less from you.
