How do you 'sweat' an air pipe onto a metal valve fitting? I tried warming the pipe up in hot water and even warming the end up 'near' a gas blowtorch, but I just can't get the pipe over all 3 'ridges' on the fitting. Either it just won't go or you end up bending the pipe 'cos I am pushing so hard. Help!

Would a bit of grease on the metal part help?

I tried a bit of WD40 to try and lubricate it a bit...I wonder if something like washing up liquid would be better?
Yes the washing up liquid will work much better.
Try heating the Valve it self Sddsddean, are you talking about the pipe into the Air Tank?

No TWR. All the air valves (and there are loads of them!) now have a metal 'nozzle' with 3 ridges on to 'grab' the pipe from the inside when it cools down. Thats why I don't think heating the metal would do any good.
