Ford quote 45.6mpg for combined fuel consumption here:
http://www2.fordconnection.com/fordconnection/ multimedia/gbr_en/00k/yyr/gbr_en00kyyrfuelspc. htm
However, that figure is probably inaccurate by around 8%. See here:
http://www.yesinsurance.co.uk/insurance-media- centre/17431071/most-mpg-figures-incorrect.htm l
So, 42mpg seems more realistic.
With fuel at 91.9p/l (at my local Tesco), that's about 4.10 per gallon.
(10 4.10) x 42 = Approx 102 miles.
So, I was right in the first place! About 100 miles.

Oh...... right????
So 57 miles isn't very good then???
It starts fine, ticks over fine too, but when pulling away and in 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th gear 5th seems to be ok-it seems to be abit lumpy and not smooth??????
Up to date with all services- can you think of anything it might be thats making it run like this and use not far off twice as much petrol???????

Unless you're crawling through central London traffic most of the time, 57 miles is definitely poor.
For comparison, I drive an M-reg Proton 1.3, with about 145K on the clock. It hasn't had a service since I bought it 5 years (and 65K) ago. So, I can hardly expect maximum fuel efficiency out of it! Even so, with a mix of town and dual carriageway driving, a tenner still takes me at least 90 miles.
The 'lumpiness' suggests a problem under the bonnet but, even before looking into that, please check your tyre pressures. Poorly-inflated tyres can reduce your fuel efficiency by at least 10%.
I don't claim to know much about car engines. However, experience has taught me that a blocked air filter can dramatically affect the efficiency of an engine (and lead to some 'lumpiness'). Even though you say that your car is up to date with its servicing, it might be worth checking it out. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, some garages claim to have changed filters when they haven't. Secondly, even if the filter is fairly new, external factors can cause it to become blocked. (e.g. I had an old Fiesta with a slight oil leak. The oil would soak into the air filter, causing it to become blocked).
Checking (and, if necessary, replacing) an air filter is a quick and inexpensive job, so start there.
Poor fuel economy (particularly as bad as you're experiencing) is usually down to an incorrect mix of air and petrol. If it's not the air filter causing the problem, you might need to get the timing checked.
May I suggest that you post a fresh question regarding your problem? Otherwise, those with greater knowledge than me might not spot that you need help.

You may need some more spark plugs they are only in the service schedule every 40000 miles
i would personally replace them every 20,000 or so.They only cost a few pounds
My wife has the same car she gets roughly 75 miles from 10 worth about 32 round town
It's worth getting some fuel cleaner like Redex to ensure the injection system is clean
