When I put my bike away in the garage after a ride, there is quite a strong smell of petrol for a while. Is this normal? The bike is a 99 Yamaha Thundercat (carbs NOT fuel injection.) There's no obvious fuel leaking from anywhere but I'm a bit worried about it being a fire risk. I recently fitted a road legal stainless steel exhaust system but was advised by the manufacturer that the carburation would need no adjustment. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks.

its probably because it is a carb you can smell fuel, its the unburnt fuel evaporating after cutting the engine that creates the smell, owners of lawn mowers have the same issue.
Also the air cleaner can take on the smell of fuel its just one of those things.
