Has anyone ever had a speeding fine because of an Average Speed Camera? I know loads of people who've had speeding fines from the usual speed cameras, but no-one who has got one from Average Speed Cameras.
Technically I have.....
I had one from the Manchester M6 J22 when they were repairing the viaduct from a couple of years ago.
After the 'intention to prosecute' they sent me the usual 'pay 60 or we'll take you to court' and they never took me to court.
I also got clocked by a roadside camera at 94 and they didnt take me to court for that one either.
Thanks for all your answers. They're obviously not as common as the usual ones. As nearly everybody will have had a fine from one of the usual ones by now.
theres been one on a Northampton dual carriage way (not roadworks) for quite a few years, caught loads..
lust googled this ! bit of a result..assuming its not an April 1st joke
Don't get too excited Chas. They turned all ours off in Oxfordshire a couple of months ago. They are now going to turn them back on again due to a significant increase in accidents. It didn't last long.
I heard that if you switch lanes between each camera it can't calculate your speed? I.e. move from outside lane when you go past a camera then for the next camera you are in the middle lane etc...?
