Pigeon droppings on cars

Can anyone reccommend any products that can easily and quickly remove pigeon droppings from cars? 

Is there also any protective coating I can put on my car that makes removing the droppings easier (apart from a cover!!)

I gently rub a sponge over them first and get as much water as possible to soak in, before gently rubbing the affected area. Don't use to much pressure when removing the droppings as it may scratch the paint.

I use Auto-glym products - in particular the extra gloss protection. Its pricey, but worth it!
