re-code and re-key

what is the cheapest way to do the above to an audi a3 as to stop the spare key working, apart from having it all recoded and re-barreled i have thought of new alarm/immobilizer and de-locking the door, is there anything cheaper and less hassle as my car is yellow and know the difficulties in painting and matching the colour.

ex has spare key and refuses to give it me back so i just wanna render her key useless when she tries to use it...

First of all why has your ex got a spare key?does she part-own the car?.

no, when we was together she was insured so i gave her the 2nd key, now she refuses to give it me back

If she doesnt have any claim on the car she doesnt have any right to a key. It might be cheaper to get a solicitor to send her a letter asking for the key back

Why not fit a steering lock, the type that prevents you turning the wheel. If your ex gets into your car she is trespassing anyway but at least she wouldnt be able to drive it off. Presumabely you have taken her off the insurance?

she can do what she likes mate to be fair, she already took bracelet and phone out the car using the key but all you ever get off the police is that "because she has key she has legal access" and when they ask if she got the key she just says no, police dow wanna do nothing so my car aint secure, i wanna sort it out so she can't dis-arm the system and can't use the key to gain access....
i've just totally had enough of being told the police can't do nothing about it so will have to spend to make it secure

i think you know all the answers to this , (lock set & recode )i dont think there is a cheaper alternative.
