I went from Telford to Shrewsbury in one when my first baby was "stuck"! Very uncomfortable and driver was screaming/swearing at other drivers - exciting though!!!

Went in one in Turkey, Istanbul. My friend fell down some steps in the hotel and hit her head. We were there for my sons wedding the next day. She was able to attend but had a real large lump on her forehead and a black eye.

Yes, when my son was dying of brain cancer and we had to get him to the hospice very quickly, as he was in dreadful pain. It was on a Boxing day and our local ambulances were on strike, so we had to wait for one to come from a different area to make the hour and a half drive. I will never forget the drive across the moors. I felt sooo ill, so lost and sooo dreadfully frightened of losing my boy! The worst ride ever!!!

When I was knocked down. I had no idea I was in one though - I was too busy arguing with my friend about why she was there (she lived a long way away, I was visiting her but couldn't remember that fact).

Yep - February last year - collapsed with a vertigo attack at my Mum & Dad's House - my Dad thought I was having a heart attack so called an Ambulance. It swayed from side to side which made me throw up even more than the vertigo. They seem to have a very loose suspension, but I suppose there is a reason for that. (:o(

Few times, once when I they thought I had a blood clot on my lungs (was in plaster ankle to hip), turned out as pneumonia. Once with suspected meningitis (brain was swollen with a nasty viral infection) - was taken to Leeds General then transferred to a separate infectious diseases unit by another ambulance but I was a bit out of it and it was very dark as I couldn't do light.

I collapsed once at a party and the paramedics seemed to think I was just drunk (hadn't drunk any alcohol at all) but despite my protestations I was rather frogmarched to the ambulance and they wouldn't let anyone come with me and were quite arsey with me until they smelt my breath etc...and realised I was telling the truth Remember the paramedic with me letting the driver paramedic know and he sped up all of a sudden and remember things falling off some shelves. I bet they get really fed up with the amount of drunk people they do have to deal with though.

Yes! When my back and hip went!
When the ambulance men carried me out in the chair thing, I saw all the neighbours on the pavements craning their necks, trying to see what was wrong and one had the audacity to poke his head in the ambulance,asking what was wrong. This is a neighbour who cannot even say good morning to me at the best of times.

I went in one a few months back with my then 13mth old with suspected pnuemonia. He had a raging temp and was just flopped in my arms. A very frightening experience and thankfully he made a swift recovery within the hour and it turned out it was just a viral infection!
