Very recently I noticed a vibration / bucking coming from the footwell / transmission tunnel when the car was at idle. It also sounded like the exhaust was leaking, there were no ECU or any other warning lights showing and the car idles smoothly and there no other apparent faults or odd noises. VW diagnosed the exhaust middle section failed so i had it fixed - they found a bracket was broken also which was replaced. Problem solved - NO, exhaust now not leaking but the vibration / bucking still there at idle. Car has been inspected by VW again, but no vibration was noticable - all exhaust parts checked, and thorough check under the bonnet - everything seeems fine however the car still vibrates while in idle only. This is very annoying so any help is welcome.

sounds like engine mounts to me.open the bonnet, put the handbrake on and engage first gear (engine running). A few revs and let the clutch out,get someone to see how much the engine moves. Any doubt take it to a garage and ask if they could check them. Most garages will check this for free!. If the engine moves it tends to break the exhaust pipe after a while!
