I have a leak as I keep having to top up my power steering fluid, the garage i took it to says I have to get a new steering rack, Is the pump/ rack a whole unit?
Wondering if there is any point changing the rack if the leak is going to continue being a problem?
I have to assume they know what there doing cause I haven't got a clue!!!!

Does this sound right

Sorry.......2003 Citroen Picasso 2.0 diesel
Given the rack is £200 that doesn't sound outrageous

The leak may be from the rack input housing .. which would require a recon or replacement power rack. These are not cheap. £200 is pretty good.

Just picked up car car from garage, And they have advised me I got an alternator problem! it was fine when it went in there (I know this cause It was brand new this year!) Had a battery warning light on way home!!
Would this have been caused by them putting in a new power steering rack?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
