Don't suppose anyone saw the first E-type that came off the production line in the Lord Mayors show on BBC this morning? Beautiful car. Though if I ever win the lotter it's a Morgan, in British racing green for me

I did, yes. It was gorgeous wasn't it. The E-Type has been voted as the most beautiful car ever produced. Can't say I disagree!

There's an old girl in the village who still has her late husbands convertible E-type which she still drives on occasion and it is absolutely immaculate I mean you'd think it had just come out of the show room. When she parks it up in the street It always attracts a crowd usually guys muttering things like "it should be against the law little old ladies driving a car like that while I've got to make do with a poxy ------"

The first E-types were beset with problems - they were an absolute nightmare.

Even today in the classic car ads you'll see them advertised as series 1.5 meaning a later one where the problems had supposedly been fixed.

I have been told many times the best car in the world is the Audi A8 4.2 litre version. I have not driven this but this is the general consensus among the motoring fraternity.

We often meet when walking the dogs and she admits it's her guilty pleasure to see the look on guys faces when she parks up and they see a 70 plus lady get out. She's also told me it's got to be sold out of the family on her death as she has 3 sons a daughter and numerous grand and greatgrand children who are all liable to murder one another to get it
