Another death.
Again we hear, Father pushes son out of the way & gets killed by a 17 yr old in his H.Powered car, when is something going to get done about these tear @rses, would a instant 12month ban work?

This doesn't actually give many details on how the accident happened but no I don't think a 12 month ban would help prevent anything similar happening at all. Punishments don't put people off carrying our crimes intentionally and I doubt the lad driving the car went out intending for anything to happen, regardless of how reckless he may or may not have been driving.

I'm sorry it's just a corsa- it's nothing special or particularly racy, just a lightly modded little hatchback- everyone does that to their cars when they are young- I don't think it necessarily has any bearing on what was obviously an accident- I'd imagine it's more the lad's lack of experience rather than the car.
Nothing will stop these incidents until the law is changed. Eg - killing someone whilst driving recklessly is judged as 'careless driving', 'driving without due care & attention' etc. Killing someone by car or other vehicle is as fatal as shooting them and should be classed as murder or manslaughter IMO.
