anyone know what would cause my cars revs to take its time to drop when i rev it, bmw e46 323i

Points on Licence........

Throttle cable in need of lubricating, cable unwinding may need replacing.

it's not the accelerator cable, that's one thing i know

Check the Accelerator pedal, they tend to hold a lot of Muck.

if i could show you it would be easier so to speak to explain, i brought it to a mechanic, but he not sure where to start, say i rev to about 5000 revs, it really slowly goes back down to it's normal revs
