Just had my renewal notice and it had gone up from £7.02 to £12.21. I rejoined last year after a year off because I had free breakdown with my car insurance and when I rang and queried the massive hike it was because I apparently had a 'new member' discount last year. After saying I could not afford it and I would have to look elsewhere, they miraculously managed to get it back down to just under £8 a month! Is this a normal occurrence - do they just bank on people not querying it?
I'm more than happy with the AA just astonished about the price hike and how easily they brought it back down. I was even happy when they explained that last year was cheaper because I was a 'new' member, but gobsmacked that they reduced it by so much just on a phone call.
got my renewal from green flag and it had gone up considerably so i looked online and i got green flag again at the price i got it last year ! it pays to look around
I have been with Start Rescue for about 9 months now. Very cheap, I think it only cost me about £35 for the full year. I cannot comment on the service they provide because, luckily, I have not needed to call them out yet.
think so lankeela, same happens with car insurance, if you get a large increase on renewal, when you phone them they can give extra discounts!......Boils down to, if you're willing to pay what they ask, they'll take it, if not they'll drop the price!...........
....and if you say that you're thinking of leaving them they drop it a bit more. I ring the AA each year and get a discount on the renewal price and compare hard on all insurances. I didn't always bother but I do it without fail now.
