Not that I would even contemplate buying one, but why do a lot of car wash machines say "unsuitable for Rover 200 cars"?

i was curious too after reading your question.

and i found this at a site reviewing the rover 200........

"Rear sun visors on newer models have a tendancy to come off� rather easily. Indeed, some car wash centres even display a notice for vehicles fitted with visors, for this very purpose. "

Sorry to be dumb but what is a rear sun visor?

i can understand now -its not a rear sun visor but its called in the trade a "rear peaked cap spoiler" and it is fitted on top of the rear windscreen

I know that low-profile tyres can be a problem in some car washes. Could that be why?

smee.tracey - err no , because the spoiler is fitted as standard to all rover 200/25 models at the factory( or where there was a factory)
