I have just received an enquiry from a friend in Australia who is visiting the UK very soon, it concerns the right of way at a road junction, the question was as follows: "If you are approaching an intersection (not controlled by lights) and you want to turn Left, do you have to give way to a car coming in the opposite direction that has signalled to turn right"
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
He (she?) will also need to beware traffic lights on red.
In the UK you cannot make a left turn when light is on red, whereas in Australia (at least in NSW, possibly other states are different) you can.
