Can someone give me a rough idea of the value of the above. It's in reasonable condition, three doors. Mileage probably under average for it's age. Thanks.

Long tax and recent MoT - £400.

Really? Sounds good, thank you. By the way, the seat belt is stuck and I have to stick a safety pin in it to sop it retracting because if it does, I'll never get it out again. How much would that knock off the vaule?
You should be able to get £350/£400 without any probs as they are quite sought after for young drivers because of the low insurance and good reliability. When I wanted one for son 2 I couldn't find one anywhere local.
its junk for chrissakes

when I sold mine on in 2004 after I was er convicted of drunk driving
I sold it on for £800. It lasted v well up to last year - with the second owner.

I know it's not worth a lot Pedant, but I sold my last car for scrap for £250, and I was wondering if I could sell this one to be used as a car, instead of just for metal. By the way it's R reg and the mileage says 115948 (the figure for '8' is actually between '7' and '8'). Thanks for your help Shoota.

PS the seat belt problem has only just happened. How much do you think it would cost to mend?
Welcome Marijn :-)
Can't help with that one, sorry, but it may affect the price a little as seatbelts are tested for the MoT and defects can be a failure. Its not a big deal to swap them with second hand parts tho.
Question Author
Thanks again Shoota. I'd be happy with about £300 :-)
Do a search on Autotrader, that will give you a rough idea, the earlier question of length of MOT is quite relevant and the seat belt issue would need to be sorted IMO.

It was MOTd a couple of months ago and taxed til the end of July. Thank you.

BTW I went onto "we buy any car" but they don't give a quote unless you leave personal details, and I didn't want to do that.
There are lots on Autotrader and they start about £300 up to a £1000. I was going to post you the link but of course I had to put my post code in to get the results so thought I shouldn't. I'm about to scrap a lovely car and can only get £100 for it so that might make it worth you having a go at selling on.

We Bye Any Car, did they tell you they charge you for the administration? don't bother, they are Rip off merchants, look on ebay, your local paper, Auto Trader to give you an Idea, If the car has any faults, be honest with the buyer, if they want a test drive make sure they have insurance, do not let them drive off alone for a test drive.
"do not let them drive off alone for a test drive"

Very good advice. Make sure you or someone you know go accompany the potential buyer for the test run.
