Any idea what might be causing my son's car alarm to go off when parked for the night ? It has happened for the past three nights at about the same time.

All doors and windows are properly closed.

It's a Honda CR-V 2005.

Cheers.

heat sensor??
Possibly a dodgy sensor on one of the doors, bonnet or boot. How old is the battery on this vehicle ?, sometimes a battery that's on the way out can cause the alarm to act this way.

Tonyav: Original battery. I've put it on charge all day to see if that helps.

Methyl: Are you saying the heater should be left in recirculate mode ?

Sound like a job for an auto elec.

Thanks for your answers.

The battery is knocking on a bit then, see what it's like after it's been charged up though.
More than likely a faulty sensor/switch, I had a passat a few years ago that had the same issue in the end took it to VW stealer and they diagnosed the boot switch was faulty. Cost a bit but it saved a lot of messing about trying to eliminate the problem. Check the carpets for damp and if you find an ingress of water that may be he area to focus on. Good luck

Thanks again. All points noted.

I once had an alarm going off for no obvious reason. Turned out to be a moth in the car. Every time it started flying around it set the alarm off.
