Car Dash Clock

Hi when i switch my car off and lock it the digital clock and odometre stay on will this be much of a drain on the battery? Is it likely to be a fuse problem? The car is a seat leon

What year/model breadstick? The display will probably go off after a short time. The display on my car - VW Golf Estate stay on for approx. 30 seconds after I lock the car (Golf and Leon share model characteristics)

I was going to say the same as Welshyorkie - mine stays on for a short time after I lock the doors (Peugeot 307). Try having a look a minute or so after you've locked the doors. Don't open the doors though, as this will possibly switch them back on and you'll be none the wiser.
If you can't see the dash by looking through the side window, sit in the car, then lock the doors and wait to see if the lights go out.

Hi there: 99% certain you'll find both will be extinguished after a couple of minutes. Do not open the door to check or they'll definitely come on again. Have faith! You've probably not noticed this before ... until now. Ancillaries such as radios and interior lights are programmed these days to extinguish after 60 minutes so as not to murder the battery entirely. Relax!

I have a Ford Fusion, and the same thing happens in my car, but after about 4 minutes the display switches itself off. I don't think that the display would use much current anyway, unless you did hardly any mileage, which might not keep the battery charged. Normal mileage should keep the battery well charged.

You haven't said what type of display these have...if they are LCD, they may be "on" all the time (mine are) and they consume virtually no power.

It is a bit like the fridge light. How do you know it goes off? :)

I would hide behind a wheelie bin and watch. If the car sees you, the lights will stay on, so duck down low.
