Is £209 for a 3rd year service exorbitant. Vauxhall Corsa.

I know they have to make it pay for giving a 5 year warranty but, is this excessive?

The five-year warranty costs come out of Vauxhall's coffers...it's the dealer making the money out of the service. The cost depends on what that particular service entails...if it's a simple one, then it's expensive. If it's a very comprehensive one, it's fairish!

Sorry, no idea of Main Dealer prices nowadays, I always use an Independent who used Manufacturer approved parts, never had a problem with a warranty.
I paid about the same for my Huyundi , I thought it was good value
that was a 3year service too

This was the price given before they even saw the car. Do you think another Main Dealer, might be cheaper?
I did shop around and there was about £50 difference between dealers

Ah ha!!!
It pays to have a peek on line 1st
chrissa, do you know what the 3rd year service entails ?.

It's my daughter's car and I have just been told it is it's 2nd service. Apart from that, I/we have no idea.
chrissa, it depends on what is involved in the 2nd service, probably not just an oil and filter change.
If I were her I would get a few quotes from some independent garages ( usually quite a lot cheaper than main dealers ), so long as the garage uses Vauxhall recommended parts and is VAT registered she will have no trouble with her warranty.
Do people realise that you do not have to use a dealer to keep up the warrantee? providing the family run garage uses the genuine parts the Warrantee holds, are people made of money?
