The 12 Volt DC Output socket (Cigarette Lighter) is not working so I checked the car manual and the fuse for it is behind the Glove Compartment.
I then checked the fuse but it was ok... not blown.
Anybody got any idea where I go from here ?

If I were you I'd pull the ciggy lighter socket from the dash and check that the wiring to it is in tact and ok, failing that I'd swap the ciggy lighter socket for a new one.

OK Tony, will do and thanks... J/Boy
It might sound silly but are you sure you checked the right fuse? It's easy to be one-out, left or right or on the wrong row if it's a double-row fuse box.
Was the fuse the rating it said in the handbook - another pointer to having checked the wrong fuse. Have you put a meter across the fuse, not just looked at it.
Have you checked that other things on the same fuse are working?
Have you replaced the fuse anyway, just in case?
Have you got more than one 12v socket in the car?, so are you checking the fuse for the right one?
How do you know it's not working? Have you tried more than one accessory in the socket or put a voltmeter across it?

Hi bhg481,

I double checked it was the correct fuse and I put a meter across it for continuity and it was not blown.

I am going to plug in another device into it (my sat nav) just to double check plus I am going to see if there is any output from it.

Thanks...

Many cigarette lighter leads have a fuse in the plug. Have you checked that?
Take the lighter out of your car & try it in your friends car to see if it works, it could just be the cig heater element.
I bought one of these a couple of years ago:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0092KVYGI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

I'm overrun with meters of all descriptions but , at the price, it's not worth NOT owning one of these for quick checks.
How do they make it and ship it from Hong Kong for £1.33?

I presume you have the ignition turned on?
