If so, why?
Answers
Not so much a 'fear off' but being much more aware of HGV.

A friend of mine has second thoughts every time he overtakes a HGV.
Having just been promoted at work the new job came with a choice of cars up to £50k.
His choice was a large Black Merc. He got the train down from Birmingham and picked it up in London and was soon heading back up the M1.
Proud as punch with this brand new car he had only had for 1 hour.
He couldn't wait to get home and show his new pride and joy off to the neighbours !.
He was travelling in the fast lane passing a HGV (in the middle lane) when the lorry just started to move across into his lane. Being almost level with the cab in the HGV he accelerated to try to avoid a collision, but the front of the lorry caught the tail end of his car and flipped him round so as he was left straddled across the front of the lorry side on .. the lorry was doing 70mph and carried on up against the barrier on the central reservation for some distance. The driver had fallen asleep, even though he had woken up with the bang, he still wasn't aware of my mate underneath the front of the tractor unit being pushed along the road sideways. Other drivers brought it to his notice... nobody was hurt, but there was a strong smell in the Merc.
A week later he got another new black Merc .... delivered to his home address this time !

HGV's? no,
Post vans, Asda Vans, UPS vans, and Ocado vans - YES! They drive like the clappers!
Like Slack, I'm definitely more aware of HGV's and don't trust them as their view can be limited (was nearly squished by one whom changed lanes into me - luckily I was 'aware' that he had been a tad erratic on the road for a few minutes and was coming in, so jammed on the brakes as there was a concrete bridge barrier to the left - a very near miss)
I always give HGV's room when they are at roundabouts and am never ceased to be amazed at the amount of people who tailgate them or don't realise how big their turning circle will be!
I remember my driving instructor many moons ago saying: 'It's not your driving that you have to be afraid of, it's others....' - very true
