Nissan Micra S 53 Plate

I've got a problem with my boot if someone could help?
I can't close the boot and it won't lock unless I take off the seal from the bottom on one side of the car, But obviously now I've took the seal off to close my boot I now have rain soaking in! Please can someone suggest if I can do something to sort this and what the problem might be?

First check if the boot lid hinges bolts are tight, check the Lock Mechanism is tight in the Lid, then check lock on the boot body, at times the striker moves causing the boot to be off set when closing, I would return the seal as soon as.

It's a common problem with Micra's of that era.
Needs a new boot lock.
