Anybody used the 'we buy any car' site. Reason I ask is, I went to look at it today and 'WOT' flashed up a red warning!!
If you have used it, how did it go?

I asked for a value for my car just to put a value in for insurance quotes; I'm still laughing.

:) I'm beginning to see why. I've been looking at 'We want any car' too. Horror stories abound.
It's potentially useful as a place of last resort. For a car not worth much that you can't be arrissed to spent the time marketing, it could be useful.
Expect them to find various reasons why the price offered is less than the valuation, once you take it to them - perhaps by 25%.
I got a car valued by WBAC for a laugh, they quoted £165 for a 2003 Renault Megane, then said they take £50 admin fee off that. I sold the car privately for £450.
Yes - there are a quick hassle free way to get shot of a car.
No - they are not going to give you anything like best price.
Ask around friends and family, someone may be after your car.

Don't bother, they are robbers.
In some cases it's worth more in scrap value.
I recently sold my old car to buyanycar.com. It needed a new engine and I wouldn't sell it privately. I got £22-16 above the scrap price :-)
Yep bunch of tea leaves but is anyone really surprised? They are a company in it to make money!
They sound like shysters to me....best ignored.

Mines a Megane too, although a year older (2002). It runs pretty well, has a genuine milage of less than 45000, but it is showing it's age badly. I've had online quotes from £300 to £0 !!!
The £0 is, unfortunately nearer the mark.
I want a new(ish) one so I think the scrapyard is the place for this one.
Thanks for your answers.
We inherited an 18 month old Passat estate a few years back and did'nt need it. So we took it to several dealers..checked forecourt prices..internet prices.Auto Trader prices etc...then took it to WWAC and they offered a silly price at first but after a bit of haggling arrived at a good price. We done the deal and the cash was in the account within 24 hrs.Must admit I was very surprised.
