do you think the supermarkets have a duty of care in the way car parking is set out? what I mean by that is space given to each car, my Nephew has an expensive car & he straddles 2 lanes, many comments are said to him regards his parking until he explains why he doe this, the commenters usually agree with him, how many dents have you had in your car due to Supermarkets car parks & how much has it cost you.
I've never had my car dented in a supermarket car park, and I've never straddled two parking bays. Mind you, I tend to park as far away from the store as I can, where it's quieter
Whilst I accept that some supermarket car parks are truly terrible, that does not cause the damage. It's idiots who cant drive who do. I normally park in the empty spaces at the most distant point from the door and use my legs rather than fighting for the narrow space nearest the door.
I think car parks could be laid out a bit better - in one-way lanes they could be at an angle instead of having people toing and froing into spaces. I've had a few dents, but haven't bothered getting them fixed.
I have had scratches from supermarket trollies in the past but now I try to park taking up 2 spaces and stuff anyone else. Until they make the spaces wider as they do for the local gene pool of tramp tamp drivers.
I've only got a smallish car but have two or three dents on one side from car doors or trolleys bashing into my doors. The problem is that cars are getting bigger - so many 4 x 4s and people carriers and yet the width of the spaces has remained the same over the years.
