I have a five year old diesel fiat punto and when I asked about changing the cam belt I was told that it had a chain not a cam belt, but in the book there are instructions on when to change the belt, why would it be in the book if the car don't have a belt?
>>> in the book there are instructions on when to change the belt
Which book?
Some (most?) cars are supplied with generic handbooks, which cover all models (both petrol and diesel). Perhaps you're reading something which only applies to petrol models?
Thanks for all your help everyone. The book refered to is the users manuel , and I was looking at the section for diesel, but thanks spathipyllum, after looking on the internet I have to agree, its a chain
