In this day and age, do any car manufacturers provide a dashboard warning if a bulb fails?

My 2001 Alfa 147 told me of all failed bulbs except headlights, I assume Alfa thought I would notice those :-)
I thought that most car manufacturers would provide such a warning these days.

The first time I was in a car when such a warning light came on was about 35 years ago, so it's hardly a new idea. (I can't remember the make of car that my father's friend was driving at the time but it was obviously an 'executive' model, as I remember being very impressed that it 'knew' when a bulb had gone).

My current car (an 06 plate Saab 9-3) runs a full diagnostics test every time I start it, and lets me know about things like dud bulbs. I just assumed that it was the norm these days.
my mercedees does
yes both mine do and they are 13 and 14 years old. Theough they have no way of telling me if the bulb goes in the dash board warning of the bulb gone!

Many thanks for your replies. I didn't realise cars had these warning symbols going back so far.

I should have said,'some cars'.
My RAV4 gives me a warning light whenever something goes wrong including lights - unfortunately you don't know what it is unless your lucky enough to do a walk round and catch it or pop it on a diagnostic computer
