Fully Electric Vehicles

Does anyone drive one? if you do, what do you find are the pros and cons?
I am thinking of getting a second hand nissan leaf that has roughly a 110 mile range. As most of the driving i do is local, not a problem

it has 110 mile range when the batteries are new. New batteries are at least £4k.

Have you thought about how you'll charge it. Assuming that you'll be charging it at home you need:
(a) a driveway, so that you don't have a cable running across a public footpath ; and
(b) a 13A socket on a dedicated circuit. That means calling in an electrician.

Around £3.50 if you have cheap, off peak electricity.

According to Which?....Leaf 2011-17 is a" surprisingly practical electric car that doesn't feel like a compromise...with low refuelling costs". The only "con" seems to be "long refuelling times" and they label it a "Best Buy".

a leaf worth buying is about 6k you're better off fixing your gearbox

Would not touch one with a Bargepole until there is no alternative, hopefully that is a good few years away.

My neice has fully electric car. Very nice it is but does not need charging point it charges as you drive. It's a Toyota Ch-r I think she said lovely car

If we get another 'beast from the east' winter, and you put the heater on full, how much does it reduce the range?

Toyota chr is not fully electric if you can charge it by driving that's a hybrid. But thanks anyway
