rover 45 can anyone tell me what the s r s light is on dash also why it is stopping on after i start the car would this relate to why my car is missing when i try to drive it

SRS, is the safety system in your car, ie airbag and seat belt pretensioners and crash sensors, it should go out after a few seconds but if the light is staying on, there is a fault somewhere in the system and probably best left for a qualified technician to check out.

It wont be anything to do with the misfiring.

As tigga mentions, the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) runs a diagnostic pre-test when the engine is started. Since the light is still illuminated it has detected a fault and disabled the system.

You will have to take it to a Rover garage who will then connect special diagnostic equipment to find out what is wrong with the system. It may just need resetting but it might be something more serious.
