New Key And Fob
Hi original problem was the two half's did not clip together, broken clip..
I sent for a new key fob and battery for Mazda. I fitted the original circuit board into the new fob and removed the blank key and fitted the original key.the remote works ok ,doors lock ok,ignition lights come on but the engine wont turn over the immobiliser light is flashing, i have tried various combination of using new and old key/fob but no different. I will say that to fit the original key to replace the blank key i had to file a little off the area which goes into the holder for it to line up with the dowel hole

in the old fob there will probably be the immobiliser chip it will be very smalllike a grain of rice.This needs to be also transferred to your new fob so the ignitin system works.check very careful it may have fallen out of old fob.without it you cannot disarm the immobiliser and start engine.if you cannot find it you will need a new chip and then have to have it programmed to the ecu.look on internet it will help you understand

I wish that I could have fixed my Saab's 'key not recognised' fault quite as easily. The specialist Saab guy charged me £420 to provide a new key and reprogram the ECU, only to then find that the immobiliser wouldn't engage when the key was removed. He had my car off the road for many weeks while he tried to fix that problem, for which he added on another £650. So it cost me over a grand to solve what appeared to be a minor problem!
