I Posted my expired driving licence, for renewal, with a postal order, and new photograph on the 11/5/21 not heard a thing, my Son who renewed his online, had his licence back within a week, I am presuming mine is lost, but trying to get through to dvla, by phone, webchat or any other means, is near on impossible, not sure what to do next, any ideas please.
odd , you posted this just over a week ago
"https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Motoring/Question1754596-3.html" and your last post on it you stated you'd done it online!
It was my Sons that was completed online, he has a valid passport, mine was done through the post, he got his back within the week, I'm still waiting, and cannot contact the dvla useless bunch.
I have been trying on and off for a week to contact them, by phone by Web chat, and emails which have not been replied to, as I said before they are useless.
I am confused on your previous post you said you did it online, but you are saying now you sent it in the post. That was in 11 June therefore not 3 weeks.
My Son renewed his online, so I was asking questions for him, that particular time, but mine was sent through the post as my passport is not valid, I was unable to do my renewal online, you need to send a updated photo of yourself, if you do not have a valid passport, he has a valid passport and was able to do it that way, he received his licence within a week, I am still waiting for mine, which was posted on the 12th of May.
There’s obviously some sort of backlog as they granted people an 11 month extension. Maybe wait a bit longer and see if it turns up - if the staff at DVLA are answering phone calls, web chats, etc they’ll have less time to process actual applications.
An update...if anyone's interested that is, after emailing the dvla 3 times, I got a telephone call from them on Friday, to say they are dealing with applications sent in at the beginning of May, mine should be with me within a couple of weeks, the backlog is being blamed on covid (surprise surprise)
