96 escort wont start

i have a 96 ford escort and it wont start, it says it has a fuel cut of switch, does anyone know how to reset this?

It might be in the engine compartment, it will be bolted on or near the bulkhead, it looks like a relay maybe 3 inches long and an inch square, it will have a kind of rubber top with the button underneath passibly red in coulour.

It's in the right-hand [driver's side] footwell just in front of the door. There's a small plastic cover which you lever off with a coin and the reset button is in there.

bumped up the kerb or speedhumps? can be oversensitive some of those ,
