Have had a reminder through... £85.25 for 6 months. And couldnt get through to the gov site, so rang the automated service. Car registration, model etc all checked and correct. On there, it is only £55.25.
I have double-checked all the details several times... but why is it £30 cheaper by phone?
//I have an email now confirming car is taxed, and confirms £55.25.//
I don't know how you've managed that, Pixie, but I should buy a few lottery tickets with the £30 if I were you. Your reminder (which looks genuine enough) clearly says £85.25 and this is the six monthly rate when a full year costs £155 (as also stated on your reminded).
Thank you x I'm assuming I have done something really stupid at some point. I just can't work out what. I'll check that site again in a few days. Thanks :-)
A good spoof site would have a crown logo on too that would be my worry.. Hope I'm wrong but as signs of been dodgy to me. What was the website you bought it from
My sister's is much cheaper, jj. The car i liked was a little older and more tax. Only about £10 /month in petrol though... which is pretty good for homecare!
Not a website, bobbin, I couldn't get onto the gov UK site they offered. I used the phone number I posted above, which turned out to be an automated service.
I renewed my car tax (online) two days ago and my confirmation says -
Confirmation of vehicle tax. The automated address that it came from was [email protected]
Okay phone number seems genuine so maybe it is either a fault in there system youve benifitted from or maybe its the detail of your car thats been given wrong.
Good luck
Thank you... x I'll keep an eye on the site dave posted, and see if it updates or not. There is every possibility I've done something silly, I just can't see what, right now.
