It is true that this service is not available to individuals, but is available to organisations with "a private car park to which the public has access."
So this means Tescos, B&Q, your local church, restaurants and the vilage pub with two car parking spaces outside the front door all have access to your details. Hardly within the spirit of the Data Protection Act, I think..
What I was referring to was only the car details not the person who owns it, which has allowed me to identify a number of very weird looking cars and number plates. The con the allows almost any crook to buy such personal details as a huge hole in the data protection act is just another cynical aspect of Blair's government.
But I only wanted to know if there are other sites who do the same thing as the RAC and give car details for any other country. Surely the UK aren't actually leading the world in something in 2005?
