Hi All, I've just bought a 206 1.6 XS (not XSi). The engine sounds a little throaty. As far as I know there are no modifications to it. Is this possibly a hole in the exhaust, or is it normal since it's supposed to be a sporty car?

Is It affecting the performance i.e. fuel consumption, acceleration etc. Exhaust on peugeots are notoriously dodgy so i'd check that first.

Doesn't seem to affect the acceleration not sure yet on fuel consumption but will check too.
