Hi all,

I've recently bought a hyundai accent and I really like it, but have a couple of niggles with it.

1) When I'm accelerating, or even just cruising, the engine whistles, sort of. Would this be the air intake/filter? If it is can you reccomend a good replacement for the standard?

2) When I'm doing 50mph+ the rear right wheel makes a rythmic humming noise, could this be the bearing or the wheel balance? Would this be covered in the warranty from the dealers?

I'd appreciate any advice ;-)

Hi theren_911,

1) This could be caused by a gap in the air filter box seal but in some cars can be perfectly normal.

2) This is almost certainly the wheel bearing which should be covered by the warranty. This is relatively cheap to have repaired if it isn't covered and is something you shouldn't leave too long!

In both cases I'd certainly return to the dealers and enquire. Good luck.
