hi, i have a ford transit 190 hi cube lwb, (year 2000 x reg) the problem i have when its parked up every night and i get up in the morning the battery is dead so i have to get my portable jumpstarter to start it, as soon as i attach it, it starts straight away, and is ok for the rest of the day untill its parked up for the night, then i get up to a dead battery again, well i think its the battery as it won't start till i put jumpstarter to it, any suggestions would be great, and can anyone tell me what battery is supposed to be on this transit, dont know much about these things, and that will teach me for buying a van off ebay, thanks

You probably need a new battery, clearly it cannot hold a charge for very long, a good sign that it's knackered. It's also possible though that there is something on that is draining the battery overnight or possibly a short.

take your battery to a spares shop that will test your battery, many will do it for free. They will tell you if you need a new one, this will tell you have a underlying electrical fault that is draining your battery or if the current one has expired.

two good answers there also try disconnecting the battery if flat in morning new battery needed

and it is not e-bay fault for purchase problems

well somebody has give e-bay a boost sometimes

Before you buy a new battery, I would check a couple of things, like is it actually charging? To check this, get a multimeter or voltmeter of some description and put it across the battery, with the engine running you should be seeing about 13.6v to 14.2v. If this is OK you need to check that you don't have a short somewhere or a parasitic load that could be draining the battery, to do this, get your multimeter again and disconnect the positive terminal, put the meter on Ohms and connect the red probe on the positive terminal and the black probe on the negative terminal, if you've got a problem you will get a high reading, if not you're OK and it's just the Battery. Hope this helps!
