I have a ford KA 1.3i that recently began cutting out when i stopped at junctions and at lights. I thought it needed a service as i don't think it has had one since it was new and the mileage is quite high for it's age. I bought some new plugs, leads and air filter and fitted them myself. Since I have done this it no longer cuts out when i stop but it has developed what i think is a miss fire. I have wondered if there actually maybe a problem with the injectors or the distributor, anybody have any ideas??

Does the problem get worse when the engine has warmed up? - try a new distributor cap and points (it is the old CVH engine isn't it?)
Question Author
yes the problem does get worse when the engine warms up. it has the old enduras engine
First thing is to check that all the new plug leads are actually correctly fitted and pushed completely down on the ends, also make sure that you have not crossed over any of the plug leads!
Then try removing/replacing the spark plug leads one by one with the engine running using insulated pliers or something to hold it, when you remove one you should notice the engine misfire and sound different, this should happen with each plug lead, if one makes no difference then that is the one causing the problem.
